Scientific data confirms that more than 95% of deaf and hard of hearing kids have some residual hearing, which can be better with the use of quality hearing aids, rehabilitation programs, and proper assistance and training. These children can – over a while – begin to hear well enough to respond to spoken word and hence, integrate well with the society.
Backed by philanthropic donors, NGOs, and manufacturers of hearing aids, JOSH has been able to provide digital hearing aids to more than 1000+ underprivileged hearing impaired children-while establishing twelve special schools that offer teaching digitally.
Josh foundation is based out of Mumbai and operates from the Gandhi Clinic of hearing in Santacruz. The hearing aid clinic has high-tech equipment for hearing like an audiogram and gives unmatched treatment for the hearing impaired. Depending on the type of hearing impairment, Josh foundation prescribes the most appropriate digital hearing aids and hearing devices for each person. People who cannot afford are given some relief through sponsorship, donation, and other corporate collaborations. Josh foundation is also associated with Widex, the leading digital hearing aid manufacturer based on Europe, in its numerous initiatives.
JOSH is a movement that was initiated by prominent ENT surgeon Dr.Jayant Gandhi and Devangi Dalal, a famous audiologist and speech therapist.
